Weird Art for a Weird World

Catherine Rahman, MBA
A graduate of Moore College of Art & Design with a BFA in Illustration, has been creating compelling art since her graduation in 2011. Residing in Philadelphia, PA, she has developed a distinctive studio practice that delves into the complexities of absurdity, fear, depression, and self-reflection. Through her art, Rahman masterfully explores these themes using distorted human forms that challenge viewers' perceptions. Drawing inspiration from traditional African masks and a fascination with the bizarre, her work invites audiences to confront the uncomfortable yet essential aspects of the human experience. Each piece embodies a unique blend of cultural influences and emotional depth, positioning her as a thought-provoking and innovative artist in today’s contemporary art scene.
